I saw this Persimmon Tree on my granddaughters playground and wondered; Could this inspire us to decorate trees this time of year? They look like glass round objects and hang from the bare limbs. They are bright orange in color and begin appearing in the month of December through January. I have made cookies with the fruit (my mothers favorite) and I saw a show on drying them the Japanese way to create an exotic sweet dried snack. Other than that they seem oddly foreign and kind of mysterious.
